Kara. It’s one of the most frustratingly fun places in the entire game. I have done full clears of all 10 bosses in 4 hours, and have also spent 4 hours wiping on the second boss. We entered with what appeared to be a pretty group, a tad more melee than I usually like, but a good group none the less. There was a small problem with one of the rogues trying to strong arm the other right at the start over the gear, but as a group we decided that all gear would be rolled on. Approaching midnight, it came to our attention; well we had already thought of it but hadn’t addressed it, that we only had one tank. The first boss requires two. So the other hunter, DD went and got his druid so we would have an off tank. The Huntsman went down without issue dropped [Stalker's War Bands] , which I already have, and Adazar got [Gloves of Dexterous Manipulation]. , which was a nice upgrade for him.
We headed up towards Moroes and cleared the room. Now here we are, 10 of us staring down Moroes and his entourage. Luckily I was not required to trap anything, (this has NEVER happened before), because we had three priests for shackle. Their CC is much more reliable than mine anyway. Moroes went down on the first shot. Adazar got his second upgrade of the night as the other rogue already had it anyway. I still think that [Emerald Ripper] is the ugliest dagger in the game. I carried it for farming purposes for a while, but then gave it up when I got my second [Stellaris] . I only use them for farming anyway and these look much cooler than the daggers.
We started to discuss whether Maiden would even be possible with the amount of Melee we had in the group, but decided to at least give it a shot. At this point we lost Sidnal to connection issues and picked up Rockies’ 8 year old son. I have played with him in the past, and he is a really good player, and if no one told you that it is was his 8 year old playing you would never know the difference. Rockie went ahead and gave his son the shadow priest and brought his druid in, the famed LeroyJenkins. This pretty much solved the Melee problem and Maiden went down without incident. She finally dropped my gloves! [Gloves of Quickening] The problem is it’s no longer an upgrade so we popped them and rolled on the void crystals. She also dropped [Iron Gauntlets of the Maiden] which was an upgrade for no one so another Razzleberry Poptart.
Next we worked our way towards the opera hall. There was only one of the 3 options we didn’t’ want to see as we were no equipped to handle it … Wizard of Oz. Luckily we got my favorite instead! We walked out onto the stage and standing there is a sweet little old lady named Grandmother! The kind that you want to sit and have a picnic with; or so you would think. Alent goes up and talks to her and WAM! The big bad wolf jumps out! He then proceeds to turn our tank into Little Red Riding hood and … wait back up. This fight is fun because the tank holds BBW (Big Bad Wolf), in the middle of the stage until he transforms someone into Little Red Riding hood. That person must then run around the outside of the stage until they are no longer polymorphed. Their armor is reduced to 0 and their speed is increased by 20%. This allows you to stay in front of the wolf as you run around the edge of the stage. If he catches you, he one shots you. Back to last night. So our tank is the first one polymorphed … and what do you know? He one shots the tank. This is instant party wipe. After one wipe we downed the BBW without a problem. He dropped two items, [Beastmaw Pauldrons] and [Big Bad Wolf's Paw] . I wanted those shoulders for a long time and he finally dropped! Granted I no longer need them so we popped them. Then came our issue. With the wolf’s paw, one rogue wanted it for upgrade, the other wanted to use for leveling during Lich King. We had rolled on everything else at this point, so it was up for roll. Adazar rolls a 97. It was his. The other rogue threw a fit and left the group. Had it been an upgrade for both I would have agreed that he should take it just due Adazar getting the other loot, but just to add to a collection, it should be left up to chance. We are still months away from Lich King, there will be many more runs before then.
Now we had to replace yet another member of the group. The guy we brought in we saved from a horrible Pug so he was happy.
We skipped the money givers due to time, which I generally prefer to no do as you can easily make 30 gold just downing that hallway … and made our way around to the back door. This is the short cut to the curator. We had no problems getting into Curator, and downed him. He dropped [Gloves of the Fallen Defender] and [Dragon-Quake Shoulderguards] . This was the last boss of the night and we agreed that we would continue our adventure tonight.
It was a fun run as we got to run with some old friends that we hadn't run with in a while. It felt good to be in a group with Sid/Rockie/Rockie's son again.
