Hey everyone ... Quick update, things are really crazy in RL atm but posts will resume shortly. The patch is out, I hope everyone checked out the new warez in the World's End Tavern, and bought all their alts mounts!

I recorded the first of Defiant Vs. last night with our lurker kill. I thought I had the video the way I wanted it and was going to post it today but have decided two things.

1. Lurker is a really boring fight and 9 mins of me jumping in and out of the water needs shortened.

2. I have to find a different hosting site than youtube because it made the video blurry.

We are going to be adding a couple of other authors to the blog over the next week or so.

The first is our main tank Alent. He is a T4/T5 Warrior tank who also plays a Kara/T4 Pally tank. (Yes he likes his tanks lol). Alent's list of alts is as follows:

Neravan - Resto Druid
Babnet - Warlock of Some Flavor
Tygrett - BM PvP Hunter

The second is one of our main healers, Tallarin. She plays a T4/T5 CoH Priest, who also has a mage alt that she plays in a lot of our farm content. Tallarin's list of alts is as follows:

Tygre - BM Farm/PvP Hunter

They are both very good friends of mine and will be a welcome addition to the blog.

Chickens, yes I said it chickens, I hate chickens and let me tell you why..... Wait, Wait,I should not generalize actually, I love Ben's robotic homing chicken. As he puts it,it is the most emo chicken in the world. He randomly kills himself, just up and explodes for no reason....this makes me giggle. Emo chicken as he is affectionately called is great, however that stupid dead chicken in Tanaris will never be rescued by me.....never.

So I am wandering in Tanaris questing as I do and I come across an exclamation point in the middle of nowhere. As I celebrate inside at getting a new quest (since the boys are pushing for me to get to 70) i anxiously click it to find out what wonderful experience giving task I will be given. Suddenly this adorable little chicken appears and I am supposed to lead him god knows where without letting him die. So I hate escort quests, only ever completed one successfully, but I need the xp and they do usually pay off pretty well, so i click accept.

Now, the chicken takes off, well i shouldn't say takes off, he saunters ahead of me at a mind numbing pace.....i swear my grandma and her walker move faster, and I try to stay with him as he heads for every thing that will try to kill him and me, so begs the question who is more emo robotic homing chicken or this homicidal robotic chicken that not only wants to kill himself but me to? Anyway we get thru the first set of mobs without to much trouble. He only pulls two critters which I was able to take down, then this selfish chicken just saunters off doesn't give me any
time to heal or anything and with this new direction he pulls count em six mobs over to us,needless to say we both die.

I am cursing out loud as i run back to my body, Knurd is in the other room laughing at me, and I am just irritated that he just had to pull all those creatures....grrrr.

At that point i was done dying I hearthed back to Shat and logged out, and even though I was done playing I still got my revenge.

We ordered out for dinner and I had chicken wings. I know i am a weird one but hey it made me feel better.

Thank you for patience to anyone that happened upon the site today while I was working on it ... we are almost there, I just need to finish fixing the header and then I think I like it the way it is for now. There were things about the last layout that I just didn't like at all, and there are a couple of things about this one as well, but it seems to be a little more friendly to edits so we will see.

Who needs plate. Plate is for losers! Rogues and their dodge ... bah. Who cares about your dodge rate? I will not block or dodge anything. I will just stand there and take it like a real tank. Crushing blows? I eat them for breakfast! Magic AOE damage?? I got your AOE damage! Eat my holy nova Arthas! bah hahahaha

So it’s summertime. There have been many posts about how to get into the guild of your choice for your summertime activities. (At least your mom won’t have to get the grass stains out of your jeans). Ok, so now you are a part of that Uber T5 guild. Well, there are two pieces of this. The kids; and then everyone else although it applies both ways.

The kids. You got into the guild because the GM and or the officers liked your app and therefore they decided that you could raid with us … or at least do the farm content until you get some better gear, then you may grace us with your presence on progression nights … You were not brought into the guild to make new friends, hang out, to stand around and be able to say you are part of a T5 guild, or muck up our guild chat with your wishy washy gibber gabber. You were brought in because we might be able to use you … in the end though, you need us more than we need you, I assure you of this.

Everyone wants an epic mount ... (Kate Hudson or J-Lo come to mind) … we get this. We have them because we have the luxury of playing year round, and already have the gear that is needed ... therefore what else do you expect us to spend our gold on? ... There are minimum requirements to go on high end raids … this is not because we want to be elitist jerks and only allow those of you on the same level as us to go, we do it because the Elitist Jerks have spoken and in order for us to succeed, you must have a certain level of gear. Therefore, when you ask in guild chat about gearing and if you are ready to go, and we tell you politely to go get some PvE gear made, and then offer to blow all of our cooldowns, (cloth, mights, first born children), to make you your gear so you can raid tonight if you so choose, don’t reply with I only have 3k gold and want my epic flier so I will let you know when I have farmed up enough mats for 5 primal mights and lots of spell cloth!

JUST BECAUSE IT’S PURPLE, THAT DOESN’T MEAN IT’S FOR RAIDING NOOB! NO YOU CAN’T RAID IN YOUR PvP GEAR! PvP gear is for PvP, not PvE! Ok, there are a few exceptions to this, Knurd’s axe is a PvP piece, but hell, it’s got hit on it making it really more of a PvE piece. In some cases the highest DPS/healing/clubbing piece in slot is a PvP piece, but this is rare ... When was the last time you saw any of the top guilds in the game sporting their arena gear on their way into Sunwell??

On to the second part of my rant and this one is short. WE WERE HERE FIRST! We made it possible for you to see this content … we have spent months learning these fights while you were off polishing your mouse … therefore yes, we are going to take loot priority on things that NEVER drop and DON’T really EXIST! (No I am not bitter about never having seen DragonSpine Trophy!) Get over it … Some things have already had their fates predetermined ... If nothing else, we earned that dance from the hundreds of heartbreaks we have already endured.

It would appear to me that there is a high burn out rate amongst the raiders in this game. It’s that burn out rate that causes guilds like Death and Taxes to implode. It can also be argued that this is the advantage of having multiple toons. Most guilds spread gear using the simple policy mains before alts. The main question is, at which point is an alt no longer an alt, but instead a second main?

Generally when someone decides that they wish to switch their main, it’s not to another toon of the same class, or even job in a raid. This causes several problems in gearing and raid cinergy. This gimps the raid to the point of having to find another X class, and that person is now looking to take the place of someone else in the raid.

Let’s say that there is an opening there for the alt. Now the guild has to find an equally geared toon to fill in the hole that was left behind by the switch, and now allow the lesser geared alt to take gear that has already been taken by the main that left.

The main reason this is coming to mind today is I have been feeling the burnout with my hunter. I still enjoy the game, love my hunter, have not stopped gearing him, or playing him the hardest that I can, but don’t get the thrill out of raiding with him that I once did. For the moment, I prefer playing Benedykt, as he is a new challenge. I stopped tweaking Knurd’s UI long ago, stopped reading about shot rotations, macros, trapping, it’s all automatic now. It just happens flawlessly. Benedykt has breathed new life into the game.

I discovered that one of our healers is feeling the same burn out and would rather play her hunter than her healer. This makes things interesting. The first response is to just trade healer for hunter and be done with it. The problem is it’s not that simple. The toons are not equally geared by a long shot, and to be honest trading and giving up loot drops we have already gotten on our mains would not be a big deal. The problem is the gimping of the raid overall with the lesser healing and lesser DPS of the swap.

I guess my question is this, how does everyone else feel about swaps such as this? Should they be aloud? It’s not like myself or the other person are playing at anything less that top form even with the burnout, so that’s not an issue. It’s simple a matter of gear. And the gearing is not massive, but enough to be mentioned. We are talking about T5/T6 vs Kara/T4. I should probably mention this thought to her before posting it here, but ya know lol. We are both raiding with the alts during all T4 level raids already, and some of the T5.
