I had hoped I would never have to write one of these posts. You have read them elsewhere, now you get to read one here.
When I first started this game, and knew nothing about it, (I still hate Knurd’s Hair thank god for the helm graphic), I joined a small guild that contained some people that I work with called the Feinting Goats. It was a guild that existed just to exist, and did not, and still doesn’t for that matter have any intentions of ever raiding or see any end game. It was a place to hang out.
As I started to level I met another hunter who went by Merman, and he was un-guided at the time. A client of his was a member of a much larger guild of which he had applied, called Silken Blades. We did most of our questing together, ran instances together, and became very good friends. Some friends of his were kind enough to summon me to Shattarath City so I could set my stone to the inn there and jump around the world. I saw a T4 hunter for the first time.
I wanted that set of Armor and started to do the research on where to get it. I changed guilds so I could make some friends, and would already know the people I wanted to be raiding with. That lasted until well after I was 70, and had Kara on full clear, then the drama arose.
I and a few others decided it was time to move on, and were having trouble deciding whether to start our own guild or join another guild. Hence Shadow of Greymane was born:
A good friend of ours Rocky had already moved on from SB into a progression guild a while earlier, and talked us into at least speaking with the GM of the guild he had joined.
Grayen was a business man. A nice guy, he knew what he was talking about. He listened to us, knew his stuff, and welcomed us into his guild. His guild helped us complete our T4 sets, although we were still learly of the guild and left our alts in Shadow.
As time progressed, Shadow has become more of a holding area; it has a huge guild bank that is open that is a bit of a community pot. We all put in, we all take out. A friend of ours decided to leave the game. He removed his toons from Defiant, and forgot that he had one in Shadow. We have known him long enough, that we trusted him completely so he had complete access to everything.
I logged Nuri in yesterday to go and do dailies, and head to our Guild Bank. I open it and the first thing I notice is the gold is gone. It wasn’t much, only 75g, but it was our gold none the less. It was made from selling the things that had been placed in that bank by us. I look at the log and see that there was a bunch of stuff put in by this person and just dismiss it as he sold the bank some stuff … there had been several hundred gold worth of stuff put in.
I look further … the bank is a mess. There is stuff everywhere. We then realized that it’s our stuff that has been put back. As it turns out this person shared his account information with his brother-in-law, who in turn shared it with someone else. Someone in there, (not the original person I am sure of that), logged that toon in, and started to rob us blind.
It would appear they had a change of heart and put the stuff back but kept our gold. It’s not the amount of gold, I would have given them gold … I don’t care about that … It’s not the few potions that are still missing … again I could care less … It’s the violation of our personal space by some cyber-thug out there who didn’t even have the decency to not consider taking our things.
Our friend’s toon has been removed from the guild, and he is going back and forth with Blizzard trying to regain control of the account … all of the information has been changed; he can’t log in, and has no idea where his toons are. We know the hunter was left on our server, placed in another guild, and played like nothing was different. The GM of that guild has been advised of the situation, and the hunter removed. His T5 Druid on the other hand?? We have no idea what happened to him, if he even still exists.
What people don’t realize is the tiny act of letting someone else mess with your account can impact the lives of many people .. whether you realize it or not.
We are left feeling violated, and will now second guess giving anyone access to our things again ...
It could have been much worse, luckily we are only out 75g, Chris on the other hand, now has to feel bad for quite some time because the trust of his friends was broken. Even with us forgiving him, mistakes happen, that does not remove the embarrassment he feels.
We previously discussed the long quest chain to gain attunement for the Black Temple:
The Hand of A'dal Part I
Today the second half of the title is to finish the quest chain to gain attunement for Mount Hyjal.
This one is rather short, and really simple. Kill two bosses, return to the quest giver your done.
“Hey Knurd, wait it can’t be that easy can it?”
“Sure it can … it’s just not easy.”
Quest:The Vials of Eternity is retrieved at any time from Soridormi in the Caverns of Time.
“Seven vials were drawn from the Well of Eternity by Illidan. He poured three into the lake on top of Mount Hyjal and a second Well of Eternity was created. For years the rest were believed lost. With the opening of the Dark Portal, we've come to know that he gave one each to his lieutenants Kael'thas and Vashj. Retrieve what remains of them; we will need them as foci to open a gateway to any events tied to Mount Hyjal, recent or ancient. The outcome of the Battle of Mount Hyjal must be preserved.”The first of the two vials is held by Lady Vashj in SSC. She’s just a boss … no big deal right? Here’s a brief outline of the fight:
Phase 1:
Tank and Spank with 1 special.
Lady Vashj does a random static charge to a raid member.
Static Charge victims must stay away from everybody else, and require some healing. If the MT gets it he moves to the middle and all other melee classes should stay away from him.
Phase 2:
At 70%, Vashj runs to the middle of her platform and surrounds herself in a shield that makes her invulnerable. To take down the shield, the raid must deactivate the four Shield Generators around her by using a Tainted Core (from the Tainted Elementals) on each. Four different types of adds spawn during the entire second phase:
1. Coilfang Elites – tanked and killed by the tanks and melee damage dealers
2. Coilfang Striders – kite and killed by DoTs. Every class with the ability to cast a DoT should help on this, including healers
3. Enchanted Elementals – killed by ranged damage dealers
4. Tainted Elementals – must be killed so for their Tainted Cores, which are looted and used to switch Vashj's shield generators off. This task requires teamwork; each raid must develop a tactic to handle it.
There is a brief 40-second lull at the start of phase 2, which allows everybody to get into position
There are 12 stairs; many raids divide them into four sections of 3 stairs each (N, W, S and E), and assign a team of two ranged damage dealers and one healer to each section
Phase 3:
This is basically Phase 1 again, with a twist - Spore Bats start to spawn. They come slowly at first, but gradually their number increases to the point where it becomes very hard to avoid the AoE poison. This usually occurs at around four minutes into the Phase.
I just keep reminding myself, (and the raid sometimes), that this really is easy shit as she laughes at the bodies surrounding her everytime we try this.
(We have seen Phase 2, and don’t believe Phase 3 even exists although I am told this is the easy part of this quest)
Quest Part Two:Obtain Kael’s Vial Remnant from none other than Kael’thas Sunstrider himself.
"That's easy Knurd, I have beaten him down like he was my prison bitch many times!"
"Try and pay attention punkin, I don't mean the watered down version that you can /afk through."
Off to Tempest Keep we go to try and strong arm it away from him.
It would appear that you can’t just threaten to kill him and have him hand this over. He keeps it in that funky spot that can only be accessed once he’s dead. (Stop thinking dirty thoughts it’s around his neck)
Phase 1: Introducing the Advisors
The raid can leisurely kill each advisor. To make phase 3 easier, each advisor should be killed in a pre-planned location.
Phase 2: The Weapons
After all advisors are dead, Kael'thas summons his arsenal of seven legendary weapons. By killing and looting these weapons all raid members can equip themselves with legendary weapons for the rest of the fight (the weapons are multi-drop but unique; one player can theoretically pick up one copy of each). Killing the weapons is a mixture of AoE and focus fire. There should be an AoE kill zone, where most of the weapons are held, while the remaining DPS concentrate on one weapon after the other.
Phase 3: The Advisors, Reloaded
Exactly two minutes after the start of Phase 2, Kael'thas resurrects all the advisors at once. The advisor tanks and their healers should start to move to their assigned advisors (or rather their corpse) about 10 seconds before the end of Phase 2, so that they can immediately pick up the advisors.
Advisor tank list:
Main Tank: Sanguinar
Off-tank: Telonicus
Warlock/fire resist Tank: Capernian
Phase 4: Taking matters into one's own hands
Three minutes after the start of Phase 3, Kael'thas himself enters the fight. If only one advisor is still up at that point, a smooth kill is close. If two or more are still up, a wipe is highly probable
There is also a phoenix during this phase just like the one in MgT
Phase 5: True Power
Once Kael'thas' health reaches 50%, he does a short cutscene and becomes invulnerable for a while. During this time, all remaining Phoenixes and their eggs should be killed. With unlucky timing it's possible that he reaches 50% just as he begins a pyroblast cycle, and thus become invulnerable (and truly uninterruptible) while casting 3 pyroblasts. Although this is a rare event, it doesn't hurt to pay attention to this possibility, and slow down some DPS if it could occur.
He also does a gravity lapse here like in MgT.
Other than that it appears to be a rather straight forward fight.
Turn those two things back into the quest giver, and assuming you have completed the other quest chain … Welcome to your new title!
As sad as this is, I have decided that a thread such as this could easily cause problems for me, and therefore has been removed.
If you read it, I hope you enjoyed it, if you didn't sorry about that. :o)
There have been a lot of posts lately about people who are addicted to this and that ... mainly this game:
I Am Cynra’s Impotent Rage
Ask WoW Insider: Stay at home mom wants to give back to the community
The first one pretty much sums up how I feel about the second ...
You wanna see some people with addictions, check this out:
This is not even the beta key, this is a chance at an upcoming beta ... (I have friends who went to Blizzcon and have this sort of key and didn't get the invite)
Click that and it states inside:
I was one of thousands of Blizzard fans at the Worldwide Invitational last month in Paris and thereby got my hands on this once in a lifetime event-exclusive card.
Due to me not playing the game that much at the moment I'm offering the card, with the codes unscratched for the peta and beta, up for sale to someone who will enjoy it more.
(For a small fee lol)
The Archangel Tyrael pet is avaivable in-game now with the latest patch, this is a brand new exclusive pet that only is available to those who have this WWI 2008 Paris card. Take your chance to stand out in a crowd and own an exlusive in-game pet!! Pictures of the pet are below.
The card also contains a beta key for a upcoming Blizzard game. Take your chance to test a Blizzard game before everyone else!!
Blizzard betas are the hottest thing out there in the gaming community and considering they have 3 major titles coming out in the future this is a once in a lifetime opportunity!!
plz note ---> A blue poster on the official forums has mentioned that these are not guaranteed WotLK keys. Anyone selling their key as a guaranteed WotLK key is trying to scam you for your money. According to their opt-in FAQ, they "haven't announced which betas the BlizzCon or WWI keys will grant access to". This doesn't mean the key isn't for WotLK. Just that it isn't guaranteed to be.
However, considering the only announced upcoming games are Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and Wrath of the Lich King it will most certainly be one of these!!!
FYI that one is currently going for 513 GBP which translates into aprox $1024.92.
Sitting bored in Shat you see a message in GC of someone asking for a run through say normal Ramparts … In your uberness you way over gear the place … to the point where it’s pointless for you to ever even consider it. Feeling in an overly giving mood, you decide to run it anyway … It will be fun.
Your group consists of … 1 uber pally tank, 1 uber healer, 1 uber AOE, 1 or 2 60 somethings to pick up the loots. Your first run you take it slow, marking and making pulls the way you should. After about the third pull, you pull 3 groups just to make this go quicker. You round the corner and start clearing around the boss … Opps, you pulled 3 groups and the boss … this turns into laughable as you level them.
You head upstairs and pull the entire hallway at once. You are starting to get brave. You are now faced with the round platform .. you know the one … you turn right to and see Omor the Unscarred, or head down the path ahead of you for Vazruden. Then you have a hey guys watch this moment and tell the group you are going to head out to the platform going right, make a big circle, then back up against the wall on the left, (right by the chest), and let them AOE the entire group … (Dramatic Pause) … You are now surrounded by sparklies as everything is dead. You finish killing the bosses and head back to Shat.
A couple hours later, there is another request for Ramparts again … We can do this bigger than the first time! You round up your group again … only this time decide that you are doing the entire thing 8 pulls, less than 30 minutes … It goes something like this:
1. Clear everything up to the guy that summons the dogs.
2. Clear from there to the boss in one pull, (Don’t forget the guys by the door and make sure your lay on hands it up … we needed it here).
3. Clear the hallway upstairs
4. Clear the round room by moving to the right, circling the room, and then backing up against the wall by the chest in the corner.
5. Clear the hallway down to Omor the Unscarred
6. Kill Omor the Unscarred
7. Clear the hallway to Vazruden
8. Kill Vazruden
7 and 8 almost count as one pull considering Vazruden is engaged when the last couple of guys die anyway … but either way … it took us 28 minutes to clear ramps completely … (We gauged it off the pally buffs) … Really it was 3 manned because the rogue that was with us is lvl 60.
The Toons Used to Do This:
Lvl 70 Healer turned Tankadin Xander
Lvl 70 CoH Priest Kevorkianphd (K11)
Lvl 70 Warlock Mariejan (MJ)
Next time we do this we are going to record it so there will be video .. in the mean time, it was awesome!
Have fun!

Hey everyone ... Quick update, things are really crazy in RL atm but posts will resume shortly. The patch is out, I hope everyone checked out the new warez in the World's End Tavern, and bought all their alts mounts!
I recorded the first of Defiant Vs. last night with our lurker kill. I thought I had the video the way I wanted it and was going to post it today but have decided two things.
1. Lurker is a really boring fight and 9 mins of me jumping in and out of the water needs shortened.
2. I have to find a different hosting site than youtube because it made the video blurry.
Take care!
